Thineshan Kathirchelvan

Thineshan completed his Aerospace Major as part of the Engineering Science programme at the University of Toronto. With a deep passion for music, his Professional Experience Year internship with Aercoustics Engineering Limited fused his pursuit of Engineering to his interest in music. As a result of his research into shape optimization, he was invited to present at the International Symposium on Room Acoustics (ISRA) 2013, where his paper was published and awarded the Best Student Paper amongst Bachelor, Masters, and PhD student papers submitted to the conference.

To recognize his achievements in engineering and music concurrently, he was awarded the L.E. Ted Jones Award at the University of Toronto. Currently, Thineshan is working at Bombardier Aerospace as an Acoustics and Vibration Engineer. Here, he is exposed to many acoustics and vibration problems being faced in the aerospace industry.
