Ríán Derrig

Ríán completed his undergraduate studies in law and political science at Trinity College Dublin in May 2013. He is currently pursuing an LLM at the London School of Economics and Political Science, concentrating on legal theory and philosophy, and public international law. He is particularly interested in the philosophy of international law. He was a member of the Trinity College moot court team that won the Council of Europe prize in February 2013. This facilitated a traineeship at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, a place where sometimes philosophy meets practice.

Ríán is a keen debater and public speaker, successfully debating at collegiate, national, and international level. He is from County Mayo in the West of Ireland, and has a passion for showjumping and all things horse-related.
