Louise Sayers

Louise started her studies in Durham University on the right foot: winning the O’ Melveny & Myers Scholarship Prize in first year. Having graduated with an Honours Degree in Law in June 2012 she was delighted to be awarded the title of International Winner in the Law category at The Undergraduate Awards for her dissertation thesis which discussed the relevance of cultural background to the application of the law.

Despite her enduring love of Law, Louise is currently indulging her other main passion: journalism. While at university Louise was heavily involved in student radio, triggering a keen interest in broadcasting. The Undergraduate Awards enabled Louise to gain further media experience by providing the opportunity to write an article for the Huffington Post about her award-winning research and to contribute to The Irish Times during the Award Summit. Louise is currently undertaking a six month journalism traineeship with BBC Northern Ireland, while also presenting a News and Current Affairs programme on youth orientated radio station Blast 106.
