Katie Watchorn has recently graduated from the National College of Art and Design with a first-class honours Degree in Fine Art Painting. She is currently living and working between Carlow and Dublin. Her work pertains to the co-habitation between human, animal and environment – particularly dairy livestock. She carries out extractions of objects and re-appropriates them with regard to content and usage. She works primarily in installation, although often comprising painting and photographic elements. In her graduate show this year, her work related to the cyclical nature of the dairy cow, and contained both domestic and agricultural objects. She has exhibited nationally and internationally, at 99kuub in the Hogeschool Von der Kunsten Utrecht, and most recently in Foundation14 in Offaly.
