Anshuman Pal

Anshuman grew up in Calcutta, India, and studied for his Bachelor’s degree in the USA. He is a theoretical physicist-in-training, currently doing his MSc in ENS Paris. He is interested in many fields – condensed matter (soft, hard), statistical physics, non-linear systems – anything with beautiful maths. When he is not studying physics, he likes to watch films, read literature, listen to music, or travel. He also likes tasting wine and single malts. He was awarded the 2013 UPenn Physics Dept. Award for Undergraduate Studies.

Anshuman has also been selected as a finalist for the 2013 APS Leroy Apker Award for undergraduate research – the same work that led him to win the Mathematical & Physical Sciences category as part of the 2013 Undergraduate Awards programme.
